Nonkosi Tlale
Nonkosi Tlale, trained in University of Nairobi, in Kenya for her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. She received her Masters Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Zimbabwe. She has vast experience in her subjects, having worked with the Ministry of Health and as a private practitioner. She has been involved with different aspects of maternal health in the country and has been a keen participant in issues of medical education in Lesotho. As an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist,I received comprehensive undergraduate and post-graduate training in Africa. This training was specifically tailored to suit the needs of our region, equipping me to work effectively with the available resources.
I strongly believe in the importance of preventive care and timely interventions to reduce healthcare costs.Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have mentors who provided me with the guidance and support to gain knowledge, experience, and skills. As a practitioner in sexual and reproductive health, I have had the privilege of caring for women during pregnancy, as well as providing support to their families and communities. When I first started as a fresh graduate, I was advised to identify the gaps in my knowledge, understand my limitations, and seek help when needed. This advice continues to inform my approach to medical and dental internships today. Working with the LeBoHA team has been an enriching and stimulating experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the concept of Medical Education.
