Brian Jack, M.D., is Professor and former Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. His research team developed the “Re-Engineered Discharge” program, now used in hospitals around the world. He is an international leader in developing the concept of Preconception Care and has worked in developing primary care training programs around the world. He has received the STFM Gabriel Smilkstein Award for contributions to global family medicine education, the Peter F. Drucker Award for Non-Profit Innovation, the CDC External Partner of the Year award, and the AHRQ award for grantees whose work has led to significant changes in health care policy. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
